Related Donor Program
Puget Sound Blood Center's Cord Blood Program partners with the National marrow Donor Program's Be The Match Registry to participate in the Related Donor Program. Expectant mothers wishing to save their baby's cord blood may be eligible for this program if they have an immediate family member (must be a first degree relative - sibling of the baby, or parent) who has a condition on the approved list of diseases for which blood or marrow stem cell transplant is a therapeutic option. This allows the blood center to collect and store the cord blood at no charge to you so that you may use it at a later date.
